ENTRY, EXHIBIT & JUDGING INFORMATION
Non-Livestock Entries
Use the SAME NAME ON ALL ENTRIES. For example, do not use Jane Doe on one
entry and Mrs. John Doe on another. Attach properly filled out tags to the
exhibit. DO NOT STAPLE
Exhibits in the exhibit halls will be released
between 5 and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The doors will be locked at 6 p.m. It is
YOUR responsibility to make arrangements for exhibits left after that
time. Should exhibits be removed before this date, all premiums earned
shall be forfeited.
Judges
The judges will please report to the management of the departments before
entering upon their duties. Judges may not award prizes to unworthy
exhibits. In classes where no competition exists only one cash premium
will be awarded, according to merits of entry. No judge will be allowed to
serve in a department in which they may be the owner or have any interest
in such exhibit or department. All decisions of the judges shall be
considered fiinal.
Entries
In case of any conflicts, the decision of the judges or superintendents
of that department shall be final. No person other than those in authority
will be allowed to see the entries or have access to the books until such
entries have been closed.
Superintendent Responsibilities
1.The superintendents shall be responsible for their respective
departments and any and all decisions by them, unless otherwise specified
shall be considered final.
2.Superintendents have the authority to withhold premium money from
exhibitors who frequently violate rules set forth in the
premium book.
3.In order to change premiums in your department, you must schedule a
meeting with the Fair Board before March 1.
4.Notify fair manager of any special needs well in advance of upcoming
fair.
5.Verify accuracy of rules and regulations upon release of premium list
and familiarize yourself with them.
6.See that exhibit area is clean and ready for exhibits and
demonstrations. Post schedules, signs, and decorations.
7.Advise maintenance personnel of needs and supervise or assist in
performance of work.
8.Act in the capacity of official host to exhibitors, spectators and
judges.
9.Arrange work schedule of available personnel in exhibit area to perform
assigned duties; entry check-in and release, clerks, answer questions,
maintain order and prevent damage or theft.
10.Supervise check-in to verify accuracy of entries.
11.Arrange exhibits in tasteful manner with all entries in same class in
the same area.
12.Arrange to meet judges and make them aware of schedules, special awards
or conditions.
13.Conduct the show: clerk, assist judge as needed, supervise spectators
and exhibitors, attach ribbons to winning entries in an appropriate
manner.
14.Verify clerk's records of placing and tabulate all special awards. Post
same.
15.Deliver,or arrange for delivery of, list of placings and special awards
to the Director's Office and Media Center immediately following show or as
soon as possible.
16.Supervise the release of entries.
17.Submit a written report following fair reporting strengths, problem
areas and outlining recommendations.
Protests
No protests of any nature or cause whatsoever will be considered by the
management or board unless the superintendent in charge of that department
shall sanction such protest in writing and such protest shall be
accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $25 which shall be
returned if said protest is allowed. All protests must be made within 24
hours of Superintendents written notification that a problem exists.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THE GENERAL RULES AND THE RULES AT THE
BEGINNING OF EACH DEPARTMENT. THE CALENDAR HAS IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES
FOR YOU TO REMEMBER. CALL DEPARTMENT SUPERINTENDENT IF YOU HAVE ANY
QUESTIONS AS WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BE DISAPPOINTED.
ADMISSION CHARGES
WILL START AT 8:00 A.M. WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2008
You may start entering June 2, 2008.The last day to enter will be July 11,
2008,with some exceptions, so please check your individual department for
the last day to enter. Horticulture and Floriculture may enter up to the
time the entries are brought to the fair. Horse entry deadline is July 7,
2008.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Exhibitors please read carefully, you must put down Fashion Review,
Demonstrations, Shooting Sports and Judging Contests if you participated
in them in order to receive your premiums for those classes.
The Fair Office will have all the tags printed and available in the office after July
11, 2008.
All departments that have a youth section are for 16 years old
and under. If you are 17 or older then you must exhibit in the adult
category.

Children 12 years and under are free.
Any vehicle to be parked on the fairgrounds, must purchase a vehicle
parking admission ticket.
Camper Rules
We will do the camping spots on a first come first serve.
Line up will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28. Saturday morning,
July 19 at 8 a.m. we will open to pay for camp spots. Camp spots must be
paid for at the time you bring the camper in or it will be towed away at
the owner's expense. A camper on a vehicle or a camp trailer must be
parked in camp spots; NO other vehicle or item will reserve camp spots.
NO other vehicle or item will reserve a place when line up starts on
July 18.
1.All exhibitors camping on the fair grounds during the fair MUST have a
parent or guardian in that camper to supervise the kids during the evening
hours of the fair. Guardians MUST BE OF AGE.
2.CURFEW is 12 midnight. All kids must be in their campers with the radios
and TV's turned down. Guardians must be in the Campers at this time.
3.Any exhibitor involved in underage drinking of alcoholic beverages will
be sent home immediately. They will not receive their prizes or be able to
sell on sale day. They will also be disqualified from participation in the
2009 Park County Fair.
4.Any person caught or reported turning loose or abusing any animal at the
fair will be sent home immediately with their projects. They will not
receive their prizes or be able to sell on sale day. They will also be
disqualified from the 2009 Park County Fair.
5.Any camper, tent, or vehicle in which people sleep shall be considered
camper for these fees: Camping rate for all campers will be $150.00 and
tents will be $125.00 during Fair. ***Camping charges include one
admission pass for each 4-H and/or FFA exhibitors, over the age of 12,
that have entered items in Fair for the current year. If exhibitor is
entering both 4-H and FFA only one (1) admission pass will be issued.
There will also be one (1) vehicle pass issued to each paid camp
spot.***
This rate applies no matter how many
days or what services are used. If you are not using hook-ups you must
camp in a dry camp area.
Pets
NO PETS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE MIDWAY AT ANY TIME. If you bring a pet to
the fair, it MUST BE kept on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible
for removal of Pet droppings.
The Press
Members of the working press are most cordially invited to attend the Park
County Fair. Every facility for obtaining judges' reports, daily progress,
special announcements, official decision and all fair matters of interest
or value to the public will be provided.
The Public
The management will consider it a great favor if the visitors will report
any mistreatment or extortion practiced by an employee, exhibitor or
concessionaire. Do not wait until the fair is over to file a complaint; do
it immediately.
Advertising
Under no circumstances will any person or firm be allowed to place any
advertising material upon buildings, trees or any place on the ground nor
will it be permitted to distribute any advertising or sell articles
outside the space assigned. No political advertising, petition solicitors,
subscriptions or sheet writers without approval from Fair management.
Interpretation
The Park County Fair Management reserves the right to interpret all rules
and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters,
questions and differences in regard thereto, arising out of and not
covered by them. Any person who violates any of the special rules
published in this Premium List will forfeit all privileges and premiums
and may be subject to such penalty as ordered by the Park County Fair
Board.
CONCESSIONS AND PRIVILEGES
The management shall have complete control of all concession or privileges
and such concessions shall abide by their decisions. Concessions will be
given passes and tickets at the discretion of management. No person or
persons shall be allowed to sell, giveaway or take orders for any
merchandise, magazines, etc. without permission of the management.
FAIR BOARD LIABILITY
The Park County Fair association, members, management, agent or employees
shall not be liable for theft, injury, death or disease of livestock or
property. Each exhibitor assumes all risk thereof. All persons who attend
the Fair do so at their own risk. The manager, Fair Board and Park County
assume no responsibility, legal or otherwise, for any accidents which may
occur. |
