1. Sale is for Park County exhibitors only -4-H and FFA. If a
consignor
sells in the Park County Fair, you WILL NOT be allowed to sell in any
other Wyoming County Fair.
2. No member may sell if he/she has graduated from High School over one
year from sale.
3. Members may sell ONE animal only. ONE steer or ONE
lamb or ONE hog, ONE rabbit or ONE
goat.
4. An animal may only be listed under one name on only one
consignment sheet i.e. Lamb #121 CANNOT be listed on both
John and Jill Smiths consignment sheet.
5. To be eligible for the sale, the animal must meet the following
standards:
BEEF: Must weigh at least 1,050 pounds with a maximum weight of
1400 pounds. Pounds over 1400 will be given to the buyer. (i.e. if
an animal weighs 1425 you will only be paid for 1400 pounds.)
HOGS: Must weigh at least 200 pounds with a maximum of 280
pounds. Animals weighing over 280 pounds WILL NOT be allowed to sell.
GOATS: Must be shown in the market goat class at the Park
County Fair and meet the market perimeters as set by the Fair rules.
Must weigh at least 55 pounds with a maximum weight of 120 pounds.
Pounds over 120 will be given to the buyer.
LAMBS: Must weigh at least 110 pounds with a maximum of 155
pounds. Pounds over 155 will be given to the buyer.
RABBITS: Must be
designated and shown as a roaster, weighing over 5 lbs. and less than 8
lbs., at County Fair.
6. 4-H leaders and individual FFA advisors will tag all animals. Ear tags
will be mailed to leaders and advisors. Leaders will tattoo rabbits.
Tattoos will be as follows: 4-H or FFA and their #'s in left ear. (i.e.4-H1
or FFA 15)
7. Each town (or designated location) will have a time and location
for tagging Lone Star projects. Lone Star project members will be notified of the times and dates at each location. Students with Lone Star
projects will be responsible for getting their animals hauled to any one
of the locations. The committee chairman will no longer be
responsible for tagging Lone Star projects at individual homes.
8. ALL ANIMALS SOLD WILL BE DELIVERED BY THE CONSIGNOR
TO THE PLACE DESIGNATED BY THE BUYER -(125 miles one
way or 250 miles maximum). NO PAYMENT WILL BE MADE
until the animal is delivered to the buyer by the consignor.
9. Animals must be delivered to the specifications of the buyer in a
reasonable and timely manner and when the animals are delivered they shall
be of the same quality as when bought.
10. Sale charge will be 3%of the selling price.
11. Animals will be sold with no shrinkage.
12. All animals will be weighed Wednesday at the scheduled time. NO WET
ANIMALS. Only one time on scales. Rabbits will not be weighted.
13. Payment for animals will be made to consignors when money is received
from the buyers, and when animals have been delivered to packing plant or
resold. Consignor must notify chairman that animal has been resold.
Payment for animals going to State Fair will not be made to consignor
until animals have been delivered as stated above and the Committee
Treasurer has been notified.
14. Consignors must have a bill of sale for beef and lambs unless they
raised the animals from birth.
15. Consignors must obtain a yellow purchase slip from the sale clerk
within 30 minutes following the sale of their animal. This slip MUST
be presented to the packing plant or sale barn when the animal is
delivered.
16. Consignors will have their pictures taken BEFORE the sale of
their animal. The backdrop will be set up behind the sale barn and
someone will be available to help you in the same order as the sale
catalog.
17. All animals entered in the sale must be owned, shown in the Park County
Fair, and sold by the consignor. Animals must be owned and
consignment sheets filled out and mailed to the committee chairman by the
following dates:
BEEF owned by February 1, and consignments postmarked by
February 10.
HOG and LAMB owned by May 15, and consignments postmarked by
May 25.
RABBIT owned by July 1, and consignments postmarked by July
3.
GOAT owned by May 15 and consignments postmarked by May 25
CONSIGNMENT SHEETS POSTMARKED AFTER THESE DATES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SELL YOUR ANIMAL AT THE SALE.
18. The seller must present their animals through the sale as they were
presented at the market show. Awards won at fair may be displayed.
19. One county agent, one FFA instructor and one 4-H leader will draw
randomly and alternately for consignor's sale order. Grand and
Reserve champions in each species will automatically sell first.
20. All 4-H members wishing to donate a percentage of the proceeds
from the sale of their animal to the Park County 4-H Foundation,
please indicate this interest at weigh-in time of the animal.
21. The responsibility of the sale animal belongs to the consignor until
the animal is butchered or resold. Insurance is recommended.
22. To be eligible to sell in the Park County Junior Livestock sale you
must be 9 years old by December 31 of the current year.
23. Consignor and parents must sign consignment sheet indicating
that they have read all the Jr. Livestock Rules. Leaders must sign the
rabbit consignment sheets to verify the tattoos.
24.VIOLATORS OF ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL BE FOREVER BARRED FROM
SELLING IN THE PARK COUNTY JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE. This
will be enforced by the Livestock Sale Committee!!!
